The Watcher

It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem using the word (or encompassing the concept of) Curiosity.
Thanks to De Jackson (WhimsyGizmo) for hosting and getting us started.

The Watcher

No one ever seems curious enough
to ask him what the hell he’s up to.

And it’s just as well, I guess, because
he’s not really sure what he’d tell them.

Maybe he’s just hoping to overcome
his complete and total lack of curiosity.

  1. Hoping his motives are that pure, for sure. Sounds like we need to be more observant, and ask more questions.

  2. The taciturn, the strong silent type have always creeped me out. That’s the Gemini in me I suppose.

  3. The paradox of being a watcher lacking curiosity made me smile, Ron. Maybe he was brought up to be passive-aggressive – maybe he’s just people watching, gathering material for a poem or a story. People tend to find others creepy when they don’t conform to their way of life. I think Bev might be onto something.,

  4. I think it might be true that watchers aren’t really that curious. People-watching is not something that interests me, though I’m curious in every other way. I just like to mind my own business!
