Stubbed Toe Causes Major Heart Attack
3:27 AM. I’ve been asleep for about an hour and a half. I’m having a dream that something bad has happened to My Beloved Sandra. Maybe a heart attack.
Suddenly there’s a crash and I’m jolted awake as she cries out in pain. I almost have a heart attack.
She’s been up. She’s used the bathroom. She’s stubbed her toe on her nightstand. She says, “I’m fine. I stubbed my toe,” climbs back into bed and drifts off almost instantly to sleep.
3:36 AM. I hit the “Start” button on the coffee machine like it’s some kind of defibrillator.

Poor girl! I hate stubbing my toes! But also… poor Ron…I understand what it is like to be startled awake!!!

Ditto here many times. I broke my toe once, that was a mess. But things heal.

Oopps, not a good way to start the day. Hope it got better from there. Stubbing toes can be so painful. Dreams like that can be too.

I meant as people! Although, as a parent, I definitely can’t sleep well because I’m constantly worrying for my son.
Ouch! I do that all the time. My son does, too—poor guy.

I used to pretend that the drill at the dentist was a blender mixing up pina colada and that the overhead lamp was the sun in Tahiti.
This is so not funny that it is funny. Neil is doing the snore/then stop breathing thing these days- so damned scary!
