It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem.
This week our host, De Jackson (aka WhimsyGizmo) asks us to create a poem using the word “Gasp” or some word that incorporates it.

The No-Show Show
He was a better magician than expected;
far better than advertised.
He’d done his vanishing act before,
almost a million times, but tonight
things were different. Tonight
he’d vanished sooner and
more completely than ever before,
leaving the audience gasping,
gobsmacked, demanding a refund.

Can’t you just picture that: the incredulousness that he disappeared! Then reality sets in: “Hey! We want our money back!” Well done, Ron.
I can picture it so clearly! The crowd furious at the absence of the magician .. their evening ruined. Excellent write, Ron! ❤️
Clever but tricky magician.
This poem made me laugh. I hope those folks get their refunds lol.
This does not endear me to magic shows 😉
There’s such a thing as too good. And you’re that my friend. Wonderful, as usual.
Nice one!

This made me gasp in incredulity! Excellent.
Well, it is what he does. So, what were they expecting. Fun poem.
This made me laugh. 😉 A disappearing act BEFORE the show.
