Sclerosis

It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem.

This week, we’re asked to create a poem using the word “Nibble” or some word that incorporates it.

Thanks to Mish for hosting and getting us started.

Sclerosis

My time’s running out.
I don’t hold back
on anything
anymore.

I used to
take it easy on
almost everything:

said nice things to old folks;
showed tolerance for children;
complimented my own mirror image.

Those days are gone.
I’d rather starve than nibble.

  1. I can appreciate the impulse to chew off great hunks with gusto. There is definitely a time and place for that.
