Sevenling (half a year) *
Half a year past 84, lost
in thought, driving just under
40 at the top of I-95.
Around the bend, over the
hill, there’s no destination left
that isn’t beside the point.
His cruise control failing.

You do sevenlings very proud, Ron.

Yes, you take the sevenling to a new level. This is brilliantly done.
Lost in thought. I appreciate his pensive mood
Good Sunday
Much❤love
I feel like that a lot these days!
From Florida to Maine on the I 95 — trust the remote and try to survive. Somehow your poem seemed the beginning of a country song! Good sevenling!
A cruising sevenling! Keep on cruising. 🙂
Such a familiar mood…
Long drives can sometimes have us contemplating the deeper stuff. Though at any age, it’s always best to focus on the journey rather than destination.
OUCH!
(Well done – hits home – hits memories of years-ago life with daily commutes up/down I95 in Florida – I’m a lucky survivor – appreciate the reminder to monitor my inner cruise control regardless of whereabouts!)
a very clever poem, i guess at 84 you’ve seen just about everything. enjoyed very much
You really use the form well–the images shine and the form seems to take a back seat–all good in my book
your deft use of the sevenling!
somehow, i find a sense of loneliness and sadness in your poem.
Love the failing cruise control …. mine’s waning! Great Sevenling …..
No cruise control lasts forever, I guess. Which, of course, is unfortunate.
