Sevenling (some things, like)
Some things, like it or not, vanish; some
refuse to vanish, refuse to even fade.
So many things boldly demand inscription.
He forgets to shower, forgets to eat,
forgets to get up and walk away.
He remembers how to surrender.
He wishes his pockets were empty.

I do love the Sevenling form!
Interesting, indirect response to the prompt.
Might have to try that form. Thanks for the intro!
interesting form! have to give it a go someday.
your poem forces the reader to form his own story. 🙂
“So many things boldly demand inscription.”
Interesting
Much💛love
If he keeps wishing for empty pockets, surely he’ll get them.
LOL, well I did say to have fun interpreting it. And this is a very intriguing portrait of a subject who seems to continue paying a steep emotional price.
A mysterious poem… makes me wonder if the “he” in the second stanza is the same as the “he” in the third.
Beautiful job with the tricky sevenling … surrender not an option.
I love your sevenlings! You’re right; it is such a fun form.
