Six Word Saturday

Here’s Some Great News, In Reverse

I got the email earlier this week. Here’s how it ended:

Best,

Christen Kincaid, Editor
Finishing Line Press

There was a lot of important info in the email. I won’t bore you by sharing all of it right now, but it started like this:

Greetings! I have your signed contract. Everything is a go! We will return a copy of the signed contract to you in the promo info packet that we will send you during the month of the start of your advance sales.

Here is your publishing timeline:

Advance copy / prepublication sales May 29- July 27
Release date (this is the week your books will be mailed): Sept. 21, 2018

So:

Despite my hope and expectation that The Janey Poems would be published first, apparently my other chapbook manuscript (Fallen Away), of which I am equally proud, has been selected for that honor.

I hereby promise not to yak yak yak about it from now until the Advance Sales begin, but I just couldn’t wait to share the news any longer.  I actually signed the contract a few weeks ago, but didn’t want to make any announcement until, um, now.

I will, however, say this much: Finishing Line Press doesn’t need me to say that they are one of the best publishers & that I’m lucky they picked me up.  You can go see for yourself: Finishing Line Press
