13 Stops Along The Way

(from Suburbia to Paradise)

1. Home Town. Enfield CT
7 of us, crammed in tightly

2. Baltimore. Livin with the hippies. An urban commune we called The Farm.

3. Manchester CT. Newlywed College Boy

4. Bolton Notch, CT
Back to the country to concentrate on studies, meditate on The Buddha.

5. Windham, CT
Further off the beaten path. Picked up our mail on Sundays only.

6. Springfield, MA
Dipping our toes into the big city, but settling in near Forest Park.

7. Still in Springfield. Closer to downtown. The marriage failing.

8. New Haven CT
Newly single, moves to a bigger city; Studio apartment. Lives alone. Avoids downtown.

9. New Haven CT
Moves downtown. Hobnobs w/ Yalies. Lives with, then dumps a drunk. Moves back to previous residence (bigger apartment).

10. View from the uptown window. Resume hermitage (at least until My Beloved Sandra comes along to rescue me).

11. Barton VT
First home in Heaven, on the shores of Crystal Lake.

12. Barton VT
We buy a house in a bend of the Barton River

13. Barton VT
Build the house outside the village.
No lake, no river, just a sea of grass. Paradise is green.
