I’m working on the Haiku Heights September Challenge: writing a haiku or senryu every day for a month.

Today’s one-word prompt is: Winter.
three feet fresh muffle
starlight and woodsmoke mingle
no black flies to swat

Love your Haiku as usual…thank goodness for the small things..no black flies to swat!
Lovely winter feeling 🙂 minus the flies of course!! Warmth, woodsmoke and starlight, a beautiful combination of words giving that good feel!!
That is a really wintry haiku – a winter to savour rather than to fear.
A great haiku Ron.
One good thing about Winter – ‘no black flies to swat’
It’s a bearable winter, cold but no flies!

“starlight and woodsmoke” – my favorite aspect of winter. And your haiku really brought the feeling along.
