It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem.
This week, things are really a-poppin’ and our host (Mish) asks us to create a poem using the word “Pop” or some incorporation thereof.

Inculpability
She knew that
when he first saw her
his eyes popped
but
she couldn’t help it
so she never rendered
any assistance;
never offered to take him
out for a drive;
never dropped by
just to say hello
or
to feed his seeing-eye dog.

Quadrille Monday #181
~ Pop Goes The Quadrille ~

There is sadness in this… a vivid piece, yet it feels as though one witnesses these scenes from a distance. Beautifully written, a wonderful take on the prompt!
What a twist at the end! I felt sadness, too.
Am I evil for laughing?😬 I thought it humorous, that his eyes popped out from looking at her. Totally not her fault.
Now that is quite a twist! She must have been imagining!
Hmm…..puts a bit of a spin on “he only had eyes for her”.
An interesting piece.
This has an aura of sadness for what is perceived.
Not exactly sure what’s going on with these two but one is quite disappointed.
You always coax a chuckle from me my friend — sometimes a guilty one. Poor blind bastard, and all her fault… 😉✌🏼
Oh man. If she’s that cold, he’s lucky she doesn’t “pop” by more often.
She must have been some looker!
Her visage … blinding! Her core lacking! Your Sandra and I have MUCH in common. I, too, am a decorating junkie (HGTV my guilty pleasure.)
Loving your ‘seeing eye dog’, Ron. Mine was Therapy dog, she stayed with me but we visited bucoo patients and Alzheimer’s residents regularly.
