Pre-Harvest Stress Disorder
I’ve got this neighbor
just beyond the treeline
that grows blueberries and
sets off a propane cannon
about every minute and a half
to keep the crows away.
Don’t get me wrong:
I loves me summa dem berries
but the cannonfire’s a deal breaker.
Maybe some netting
or a shiny, squeaky scarecrow…
Forty shots an hour’s a stretch

For real? Good grief.
Nets would do the trick unless we’re talking about a field of blueberries.
We used to grow a patch of blueberries…netting was good, but we found always lots to share with the birds. I’d be losing it with the cannon.
Can you raise him one cannon fire with a symphony of very large cow bells?
