Our friend Misky is guest-hosting today’s dVerse Poets Pub Tuesday Poetics Challenge: to write about food. Although the Biblical tale of Eden’s Apple my not (technically speaking) be about just food, I’m hoping that this sequence of senryu/inverted senryu meets expectations…

Just Desserts
not because he was hungry
he took the apple
when she handed it to him
she was a hottie
how could he have turned her down
naked as she was
now they were homeless
and their landlord was pissed off
but they didn’t care
second best is good enough
they’re done with Eden
and feasting on apple pie

Sounds good to me. Where’s the whipped cream? (K)
Quite a clever rendition. Nicely done poem.
Good Sir, this passes muster (apple pie goodness.)
I love some apple pie. Also, your blog title is fitting to the prompt.
Not that is a tale you won’t find in Genesis! In one of the southern cultural groups here, what they end up doing is “cutting the apples!”
ha ha! Great re-tell of the ancient story…
Oooo, I really like your twist on this prompt!
Haha! Love this!
I think it was a good choice… Eden was probably a bit dull over time.
Fantastic take!
