Vacancy (Tanka)
He lives alone now.
They sting, his recollections
and his homeless heart.
The walls, unpinning, collapse;
the roof no longer a roof.

a very plaintive tanka and loaded with feeling- I wish I could put that much in so few words
“The walls, unpinning, collapse;”
So heartbreaking with brevity.
So few words to encompass such despair and misery!
Wonderful Ron. So much said in so few words. Well done ☺️
The title and his “homeless heart” touched mine…
A great take on the prompt. Homelessness is a real problem in our country.
I love reading and writing tanka ~~ yours is marvelous.
So poignant, so telling in its brevity! Beautifully done 💝💝
So poignant and sad.

A house wreck of a life in a brief poem. Deeply sad.
This casts an emptiness of home, hearth and heart.
And in so few words. Well done.
Tanka don’t usually have so much emotion in them. This must be one of the most poignant short poems I’ve ever read.
Poignant 😦
