It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem using the word SEED.
Thanks to Merril for hosting and getting us started.
(Please don’t take this tooooo seriously; I could have done better if only the prompter had allowed, oh, I dunno, maybe 60 words, but….)

Living Proof
Writing prompts are poisoned seeds
that hardly any poet needs;
they plant themselves but make things worse
and foster only weedy verse.
It’s hardly ever worth the wait:
(the poetry is never great).
Prompts don’t make the poet grow.
See? I told you so.

Quadrille Monday #127
~ Seedy Poetry ~

Love this and how your price yourself wrong with such an unweedy verse.
You make it look way to easy. No way I could do this. **posts photo and calls it a day**
Hahaha, Ron. Well, something came of it. 😀
*splutters* and yet you prove yourself wrong! Great fun! ✨
“Chuckles* and still, you shine with your fantastic verse anyway 😀
Point proven & refuted at the same time!
Tell us how you really feel about prompts and word limitations Ron Period (aka Other Ron)
loved the word play here. made me chuckle
I chuckled, and since I think that’s what you were going for, I say you’ve done well for yourself, you cheeky fellow.
Ha. Biting the hand that feeds you prompts? I’ve been known to do the same. Fun poem.
I hear you Ron. But I can occasionally squeeze out something that has a bit of substance. But 44 words is tough. Gives me a headache snd cold chills while I edit down to meet the number. But as always my friend, I enjoyed your tart perspective… 😉
They do become a growing habit … come from such unanticipated corners!
Ha Ha! I’ve felt that.
LOL. I like this clever take on this prompt. Nicely done.
Your seedy poetry is special, don’t ever let anyone say different! 😆
Haha! Thanks for the laugh Ron. It was a brilliant quadrille 🤣 LOL, the dreaded prompt!
You had me right here: “Writing prompts are poisoned seeds”
This poem definitely sprouted beyond a seed, and I love where you went with the prompt. I can resonate with this and I think you state it eloquently.
Sometimes that 44-word limit condenses the mind…so you can tell us exactly what’s on it!
They may be ‘poisoned seeds’, Ron, but the yield is so varied and colourful, from roses with and without thorns, to cheeky pansies of quadrilles, like yours! One man’s poison is another man’s cure, so they say.
Very witty – you are too modest.
I’m inclined to agree somewhat with your poem, Ron! I don’t mind the prompts so much, but when the restrictions and instructions are a page long they smother creativity………….IMHO. that is!
LOL and mine is titled Totally Stupid … you know what that means.
Ha… but this works so well Ron, and I know for a fact that you write excellent poetry in much less than 44 words.
And yet you persist…
To echo Jane (partly), and yet you can’t resist…(K)
Love this, Ron. Very often true.
I think this is quite funny. Sometimes prompts do lead to lots and lots of weeds and then a machete to hack out the unhelpful while searching for one small seed.
