Alteroid

Alteroid

He almost manages to settle in,
staring out the tenement window
far from his own small lot by the
river’s edge; almost manages
to ignore the curious, sudden
and disconcerting appearance
of some kind of alien tissue
taking over his keyboard, writhing
and squirming as he typed.

  1. Ron, this reminds me of a cross between David Cronenberg’s film, “Videodrome” and Burroughs’ “Naked Lunch.” Not something that’s going to give you the warm fuzzies that’s for sure. Great spin on the prompt!

  2. Must be what happens to Stephen King! Jokes aside, this is a mesmerizing paragraph you’ve written!

  3. Wish you were sitting here with me….you would see the grimace that formed on my face at the end. I almost uttered EWWWW! What a twist and a gruesome image as well. Future plot for a poem on the VERY dark side!
