Transfixation

It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem using the word (or encompassing the concept of) “dab”.
Thanks to De Jackson  for hosting and getting us started.

Transfixation

I watch the nightly news
all day long, mesmerized,
watch the body count soar,
watch the politicians, the
lunacy unleashed.
…………………………………..I can’t
change the channel; sitcoms
have ceased to exist.
…………………………………….I’d rather
be dabbing tears of laughter
but I guess those days are gone.

  1. Good wholesome TV sit coms are mostly streaming during the day, Hulu, CBS Access, Hero, etc. But in fact daytime TV has most always been soap opera and game shows. I enjoyed your pointed jab at those things that plague us.

  2. Oh boy have you captured me and half the nation on January 6th. Glued to the tv in horror and anger. These last few days I’ve tried to read and find happy funny things on Netflix or BritBox which is on Prime. I crave good news and calm. The news…I’ve heard the phrase doomzoom or something like that. Doom and gloom but add anger and horror to it…January 6th had it all.
