Oh, Heavenly Nougat

It’s Quadrille Monday again at the dVerse Poets Pub; time to create a 44-word poem using the word (or encompassing the concept of) ‘Possibility’.
Thanks to De Jackson for hosting and getting us started.

Oh, Heavenly Nougat

He feels good about himself
because he always gets up at four
to write about the possibility
of nougat in heaven.

He’s read all the Good Books;
believes their promises, believes
that — if he behaves himself—
he’ll receive his celestial reward
in nougaty bliss.

  1. Nougat is good, but chocolate is best. They say that two things this planet has that others don’t are emotions and chocolate.

  2. I agree with Glenn and Ingrid: nougat is good, but chocolate is best. Also, it doesn’t stick to your teeth, although that probably doesn’t matter in heaven.

  3. Made me smile, Ron. There’s a wonderful Italian bakery in the North End (Italian section of Boston and easily walk-to-distance from where we live) that sells homemade nougat bars….they look delicious! Sweet possibilities indeed!
