Sevenling (she’s his favorite)
She’s his favorite waitress;
always serving up some tasty sonnets for lunch,
quadrilles as metaphor for dessert.
He hates to finish his meal;
never fails to tip her a happy little limerick,
a shiny simile, a couple unrhymed couplets.
She’s become his blue-plate special.

I’m very happy that the d’Verse Poets’ Pub has returned from a two-week hiatus, and grateful to Kim for providing our Quadrille challenge.

Ah, this lucky poet!
Lovely!! 😀 I so love; “quadrilles as metaphor for dessert.” 🧁
Blues with a little be-bop thrown in. Nice wordsmithing.
Lucky poet, lucky waitress. Great combination!
I like the merging of the “blue” prompt into a sevenling poetry form (one of my favorites). Well done.
I love this. I haven’t written a sevenling in a long time. I’ve been addicted to haiku and senryu lately. Poetry forms can certainly be addictive. You can never write just one.
Smiling. (K)
sounds like a hungry poet, great word play here!
Bravo Ron! my favourite of your sevenlings, fitted to quadrille count
Much💙love
I’m happy that the Pub is open again and to read you quadrille, Ron. I love the title, the playfulness of the imagery, and ‘quadrilles as metaphor for dessert’. Oh, to be tipped a happy little limerick, a shiny simile or an unrhymed couplet!
I like this. It fair trips along (must look up this sevenling thing)
