Still Waiting (Haiku)

Today, the Imaginary Garden’s Real Toads ask us to address Spring in an abbreviated Japanese style. I’d love to comply; would love to write about bloomlets popping up through soil soaked by melting snow, or about the return of songbirds to budding tree branches.

No can do. Instead, I offer this:

a foot of new snow
northern migration delayed
—Spring recalculates—
