Originally published last March by right hand pointing, revised and republished here for this week’s “Heart” prompt from One Single Impression.
It’s not convenient now, is it,
having one that breaks, daily;
having one that fails.
When I heard you on the phone
I almost escaped knowing your voice.
Here in Vermont, everything’s green
but out on your flats there’s only fog,
static, little or nothing to do,
and nothing to be done.
