I’m working on the Haiku Heights September Challenge: writing a haiku or senryu every day for a month.

Today’ one-word prompt is: “Phoenix”.

she’s been there before
has stalled and crashed; has fallen
but risen from ash

  1. Yes I like the internal rhyme also…this could be my daughter….she has fought serious auto immune disease and cancer…yet she rises from the fire to continue on…the photo and haiku work so well together,,great job!

  2. Fantastic poem, Ron, and the artwork is terrific too. So many of us can identify with what you’ve written here; it’s a great encouragement. 🙂
